Day #119 - Picture #119 (Wednesday)

Grandson's

Tonight Shawn and I went to dinner at Grandson's. We've tried to go several times (with schedules permitting) over the past couple of months, but always managed to go on the days that they were closed (Mondays and Tuesdays). But since, "now we know", we made it a point to go tonight! Lots of southern foods, some that I don't get unless I go here....black-eyed peas, collards, homemade cornbread, pecan pie, bar-b-qued ribs, and so on....needless to say, I had to unsnap my pants on the way home.

Day #118 - Picture #118 (Tuesday)

Late Night Snack

Nothing like wanting a late night snack....late at night....here Shawn and I are making a cake. Not that that in itself is any big deal, but the time that we're doing it is! Here it is, after 8:00 at night, and we're half way through American Idol and we decide that we want cake....so we stop the show and go make one....we finish up our show while the cake is baking. Then, since the cake is still too hot to frost, Shawn just cuts himself a big slice, and frosts that. Yummy cake, late at night! Can't beat that!

Class Field Trip

Gillis Hill Farm

Today Garrett's 2nd grade class when on their school field trip to Gillis Hill Farm. I wasn't able to attend this one, but his dad did! He actually took a picture for me....guess one is better than none! Garrett said he had fun, and when they gave a presentation about the pigs, he yelled "I Love Bacon", and said the pig (Hamlet) gave him "that look"....LOL

Twilight

Okay Amy,
so I finally caved and bought the book from Amazon.com....it came in the mail today...and I will now begin to see what all of the hype is about on my own....I do hate that I've already seen the movie....but in a way, what better way to imagine Edward Cullen than by thinking of Robert Pattinson's beautiful face (hubba hubba)...hopefully I'll get to start it tonight.

Day #117 - Picture #117 (Monday)

Do the Crime...Do the Time!

Several weeks ago you may recall Garrett getting in trouble at school and having to be sent to the Asst Principal's office, and then we had to meet with her....her punishment was either one day of school suspension, or two hours of pinecone pick up right after school....we opted for the yard duty....Richie did the whole two hours with him this afternoon....my son doing his time! LOL
**Richie took the pictures for me, as well as a couple more!

Day #116 - Picture #116 (Sunday)

Surprise Mom!

Okay, so someone found the leftover Easter stickers...and wanted to share them with me!! He actually walked in my room with a paper hat over his face so I couldn't see him, and then took it off and went "Surprise Mom"....the stickers were everywhere....not only on his face, but in his ears, and the back of his neck....
and then he wanted to go outside and ride his bike like this....so I let him...good think "self-awareness" hasn't really kicked in yet! Made for a good laugh today!

Day #115 - Picture #115 (Saturday)

Is it Summer? Or is it Spring??

I swear it is sooo hot today! I was out running errands today, and as I sat at the dreaded stoplight of mine (previous pic of the day), I saw 90 degrees on the Coffman Commons sign....by the time I actually drove over there, got my camera out, and actually took the picture, it had changed to 88 degrees.....but heck 88 degrees is still HOT and I was standing there sweating!! And here I thought it was still early Spring!!

Todays high is 91, and it's expected to be the same tomorrow!

Day #114 - Picture #114 (Friday)

Lunch with Shawn
Even though we went out for dinner last night, Shawn suggested that we got out to lunch today. The truth is, even before our trip to PA I didn't do much food shopping, and even once we got back, I really hadn't done much, so the truth is this....we didn't really have much of anything to eat...And since he was off during the day....he suggested lunch! I'm really glad he did!! I got to have a lunch date with my man, and have Mexican food at the same time....we rarely get to go out together anymore, so this made it even more special.

Day #113 - Picture #113

Chinese for Dinner Tonight

Shawn was off tonight, so we all went out for dinner, Tung Sing to be exact. I had all of my favorites....Pineapple Chicken, Green Beans, Vegetable Lo Mein, Vegetable Fried Rice, Chicken on a Stick and Pepper Steak with Onions...and let me just say this, I am completely stuffed!!

And my fortune cookie says: Live each day as though it were your last.

Day #112 - Picture #112

Our DVR Box

When we got home on Sunday night, our DVR box said it was 84% full, and as of tonight, we've got it down to 61%. We're completely caught up on all of the American Idols and the Survivors now! Woo Hoo...I love that DVR box! Now to watch some of the UFC's, Two and a Half Men episodes, and all the other stuff we had taping while Shawn was in Texas, and then when we were on vacation!

Vacation Pictures

So, in case any of you are still interested, I decided to do ahead and post some of our pictures from our trip!
So, after leaving North Carolina, we arrive at the Virginia State line, still early morning, but already raining, and this pretty much is an indication of our entire drive today....not bad rain, just enough to be irritating and just enough to have to turn your windshield wipers on...
And of course, I couldn't resist taking these pics while we were at the rest area....our first dandelions of the season....
First off, I had to post this one....we were so close to our destination, and he finally decides to take a cat nap...is wide awake all day and then with less than 30 minutes to go, he decides to rest....

Day #111 - Picture #111

My Sleeping Babies

Jackie spent the night with us last night, and slept on the futon....when I got up this morning to get Garrett up and ready for school I found him sleeping with Jackie...Garrett typically sleepwalks and winds up in my room with us, and I have to take him back to bed, but last night, he must've gotten to Jackie instead....isn't this the most precious thing (sorry Jackie, forgive me for posting this pic)...I mean really, my two babies, snuggled up together...makes my heart smile...and me too! Gosh I love these two...

Day #110 - Picture #110

OMG the Laundry

Even though I know I washed like three loads of laundry while we were away, I still had this huge pile to wash once I unpacked everything...I just can't believe we went through so many clothes.....WOW, it still amazes me.....well, let me get to it!

Day #109 - Picture #109

Welcome to North Carolina

After dropping Sarah off this morning around 9:30am, we began our journey back home to North Carolina....It was a long drive, and it pretty much rained the whole day....you have no idea how happy I was to see the Welcome to North Carolina sign, but little did I know, that we still had about a six hour drive ahead of us until we pulled into our parking space at home....but for that brief moment, when I saw that sign....I was happy, because I was "almost" home....or so I thought! LOL

Day #108 - Picture #108

Driving to Ohio to see Sarah

Today we went to Ohio to see Shawn's daughter Sarah. It was almost a five hour drive, and we were lucky enough to have Shawn's son Tyler with us as well. His two children haven't seen one another in quite some time, and being able to get Shawn together with his children made the entire trip worth it for us. Shawn was happy, and that made me happy!! We went and had lunch together, took the children to the park to play (and have an Easter Egg Hunt for Sarah), then got a hotel room, let the children play outside together, and literally just enjoyed our time with one another!

Day #107 - Picture #107

the Vol-cone-o

Today was another day filled with lots of things to do...like going to Mr. Sticky's for Homemade Sticky Buns for breakfast, then taking Garrett and Tyler to Montoursville to get haircuts at the same place that Shawn got them when he used to live there...then we went to pick up Gram and took her to Friendly's for ice cream....this is where this picture for today comes in!
On our way to PA, we stopped at a Friendly's for lunch. The first time Garrett and I had ever been to one, but we were in a hurry and just ate lunch, no ice cream....but Garrett saw the ad for the Vol-cone-o and just had to have one, so we promised him that while we were home, we would take him to Friendly's and get him one! I mean he literally talked about this thing for hours on end....so he got one...played with it more than he ate it, but hey...what can you do right?? Build Your Own Adventure Sundaes. Kids get to choose their favorite flavors and three toppings to build three new imaginative sundaes: Vol-Cone-o, Cone-y the Clown, and the Alien Invader!

Later in the day, we went to Loyalsock Creek in Montoursville to look for crayfish, something we do every visit...this time it was still a little too cold and there were no crayfish to be found...then back to Nanny & Pappy's for dinner, and playing outside - a bean bag game called Corn Hole...we had another fun filled day of activities....

Day #106 - Picture #106

Busy Day
Today we did several things....starting with playing outside with the landscaping rocks, then going bowling for the second time, playing outside on your scooter and playing with the sidewalk chalk, then going to the creek down the street from Nanny & Pappy's house with Shawn, Going to Hoss's for a family dinner, coming home and playing the Wii with Ryan, climbing trees with Tyler, and then having an Easter Egg Hunt and a Birthday Party for Tyler...
*Can't decide which picture to use yet....:)

Day #105 - Picture #105

Bacon, Bacon, Bacon (Dolly's Diner in Williamsport, Pennsylvania)
*Here he is waiting patiently for his "bacon".

We did several things today, but this event really stuck out for me, as it was quite hilarious, and this is the only picture I got of the situation.
This morning we went to breakfast at Dolly's Diner with the whole family (and then some)...we've been here before on previous trips and really enjoyed thier food. This morning, Garrett was completely all about the "bacon" and when asked what he wanted for breakfast, that's exactly what he said, "bacon, bacon. bacon". And everyone just chuckled at him....but that's exactly what he got....bacon - his bacon, some of Shawn's bacon, some of Nanny's and even some of mine. Wow, did he eat the bacon this morning!

Day #104 - Picture #104

Shawn Comes Home and Goes Home...
all in one day.

Literally. He arrived home at right about 2:00am this morning after traveling all day from El Paso, Texas, and by 7:00 am he/we were leaving North Carolina on our way to his Mom & Dad's house in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. We arrived there a little after 5:00pm, and within two hours of arriving home, Shawn was completely exhausted and sleeping! Isn't he just soooo cute?

Life, as I know it....

will be getting back to normal today!

We arrived home last night from our vacation in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. We had a really great time while we were gone. Poor Shawn though, got home last Tuesday am around 2:00 (after an all day travel home) and we were on the rode by 7:00 am that same morning on our way to PA. Not even 2 hours after arriving at his mom & dad's house, he was sleeping...isn't he sooo cute!

It was really nice to get away and see his family. Very wonderful people, who make me feel like part of their family!

I even got to visit two scrapbooking stores while I was there, one in Williamsport, PA, called Scrap-in with Kat and the other one, Scrapbook Cottage in Montoursville, PA....I really loved this because they both carried things that the scrapbooking store here in Fayetteville doesn't carry, not to mention, Shawn was buying! How cool is that! It really is a great feeling to have a man in your life that appreciates your hobby, and supports you completely with it!

Today things get back to normal...Shawn is back home, and goes to work this evening, and Garrett went back to school this morning (after having three weeks off), and I of course, had to go back to work...

Will post vacation pictures tonight....can't wait to share!

Enjoying the weather

Now that it's warming up here on a regular basis, Garrett has decided that he wants to be outside all the time now. You have no idea how glad I am to hear this as this is a kid that at one time lived for the tv, the computer, and any type of video game system that you put in front of him...now he's all about riding his bike, and his scooter. Thought I'd share some pictures!

**Will add more as I'm being rushed out the door, yet again to let him ride his scooter!

Day #103 - Picture #103

Flat Stanley Came Home!

Today, Flat Stanley came home. We sent him to Sandee in Eagle Point, Oregon and he had a blast visiting with her. He went to school with her, rode a tractor, helped with hanging out the laundry, and even went horseback riding! He had such a blast...When he arrived home today, he came with lots of brochures of other things to do where Mrs. Sandee lives. Thank you again Mrs. Sandee....from Garrett :)

Day #102 - Picture #102

The Easter Bunny Came

Day #101 - Picture #101

Bonus Time With My Son Today!

Happy Easter

So even though Garrett was with his Dad last night, the Easter Bunny still came here instead...guess he knows the deal huh? LOL
Think Garrett is gonna be happy....oh yeah! Pokemon Platinum, new Webkinz, Webkinz cardz....yeah, the Easter Bunny did good!

Hope your time with family is wonderful today, and always.

So I finally sat down and did a layout this evening....haven't done one in awhile, and I figured it was about time....and luckily this one just kinda came together for me.

Lucky

Lucky am I to have you in my life

Day #100 - Picture #100

Radio Station Visit (complete with a gumball filled with nerds in his mouth)

So last week I won a CD off the radio station and went today to pick it up...Garrett had never been to a radio station before and was kinda excited when we went inside, and he recognized the Q98 symbol on the wall, and the DJ waved at him....I knew Garrett would love the CD and I handed it to him as soon as the receptionist handed it to me....It's called:
Now That's What I Call Music 30, and we listened to it all the way home. I highlighted some of his favorites....
1. Just Dance Lady GaGa
2. Womanizer Britney Spears
3. Keeps Gettin' Better Christina Aguilera
4. Let It Rock Kevin Rudolf
5. Heartless Kanye West

6. Miss Independent Ne-Yo
7. Green Light John Legend
8. Rehab Rihanna
9. I Hate This Part The Pussycat Dolls
10. Sober P!nk
11. Crush David Archuleta
12. About You Now Miranda Cosgrove
13. Gives You Hell The All-American Rejects
14. Light On David Cook
15. 18 Days Saving Abel
16. Gotta Be Somebody Nickelback
17. Thinking Of You Katy Perry
18. I'm Yours Jason Mraz
19. Love Story Taylor Swift
20. Sweet Thing Keith Urban

Day #99 - Picture #99

Coloring Eggs

Since this is an odd year, Richie will have Garrett on Easter morning, plus this weekend falls on his weekend, so Garrett and I had to color eggs tonight. Can't have Easter without coloring eggs right? Garrett had a blast and enjoyed dipping the eggs in multiple colors....hey, they're his eggs right? Any hoo, he colored the eggs, wound up coloring his fingers, and just having a really good time. And that's what's important, right?

Day #98 - Picture #98

I have a CLEAN Car!

Okay, I know, no biggy to some of you, but I can honestly say that it has been literally months, and months since my car has been washed, much less vaccuumed out! And this is for sure the first time this year, and let me just say this, it WAS REALLY nasty. Even I was getting embarrassed....especially with our upcoming trip to PA next week....can't take a dirty car. I am soooo in love with my car again. I fogot how nice it looked when it was all clean. Bad Tammy!

Live, Create, Imagine

Well the wait is over, and the First Ever Design Team for Live, Create, Imagine has been announced....so if you get a moment, hop on over there, and say hi, and congratulate the girls on being selected. There is some amazing talent on this board, and the great thing about this board, is that it covers all areas of crafting...sewing, knitting, and so on.

Day #97 - Picture #97

Sleeping With Mommy

From day one Garrett has pretty much slept with me and his Dad...think it was the convenience due to breast feeding and the fact that he was soooo sick as a baby (numerous ear infections and allergy situations)...even when his Dad and I spilt up he still continued to sleep with us. He still sleeps with his dad on his Dads nights, but now that Shawn has moved in with me, Garrett has been forced to sleep in his own bed, in his own room. Grant you, he is eight and really should be in his own bed by now, but I do make exceptions. When Shawn is out of town for work, I let Garrett sleep with me. He sleeps so soundly and rarely ever gets out of bed! He's been known to sleep walk on several occasions! Plus it's always a bonus to wake up to a blue eyed angel saying I love you Mommy!

Day #96 - Picture #96

Wisteria

Another thing that I love about spring is the wisteria. I know it's more of a vine/weed type plant, but I absolutely love it, and love seeing it just growing every where. These days with so much construction going on, I don't see it as much as I used to, so everytime I do see it, I take a moment to soak it in. It'll be gone in no time, so I figured I'd take a picture of it today.

Day #95 - Day #95

Sibling Time Together

Thought I'd share this picture today, as it's not something that you "typically" see going on. First of all, Jackie is rarely home with anytime to spare, and secondly, with there being a 13yr age difference between her and Garrett, you rarely see them playing together. Today, they went outside and drew on the patio concrete with the chalk...lots of flowers, and lots of fun. Thanks for playing with Garrett today Jackie! And don't forget, I now have proof that "Jackie Loves Garrett". LOL!

Day #94 - Picture #94

Best Buds

When Garrett was a baby, my friend Gnell worked at the daycare that he attended. That is actually where I met her. Her son Dalton is about 4 months younger than Garrett, but also attended the same daycare. These two have known each other since they were about two if I'm not mistaken, and have been the best of friends ever since then...of course Dalton goes to a different school, and such, but since his mom and I are really good friends now, we all try to get together at least every other weekend or so and hang out together, and to let the kids play..Today, we went to the movies to see Bolt, and then out to dinner, where Garrett did his typical thing and climbed into an empty booth and went to sleep...

Remembering

Wedding Day - April 4, 1970
My Mom & Dad, with me at almost 9mths old

Today would have been my Mom and Dad's 39th Wedding Anniversary....sadly, neither of them are with us any longer. Today was a rather happy day for me, as well as a sad day. I spent time with friends, and had a good time. I've spoken to Shawn numerous times today. My son got to spend time with his Dad, as well as me today (and that is always a good thing), and I got to see my daughter Jackie for a little while, while she was here today...all good, happy things....but deep down, I am sad. I miss my parents terribly, especially knowing that both my mother and father died in the month of April. Today, like I said was their wedding anniversary, but tomorrow is the 2-year anniversary of my dads passing....even today after almost 6 yrs for my mom, and two for my dad, I find myself reaching for the phone to call them...Happy Anniversary Mama & Daddy. I Love You Both!.

Day #93 - Picture #93

Trying to Fly a Kite

Garrett was feeling better this afternoon when I got home from work, and wanted to play outside...it was rather windy so we decided to give the kite flying thing a go again. Unfortunately, even though there was a lot of wind, it wasn't consistant, and everytime we got the kite in the air, it would come right back down....one day we're going to have a perfect kite flying day, and we're gonna actually be home, and be able to enjoy it! Hope that time comes soon, as Garrett really wants to fly that kite!
*still more pollen too! Yuck!
