Layout to Share

Haven't really scrapped much in a while, but did these two layouts this past week. Used Echo Park's A Boy's Life for both layouts!

And We Have Added Two more to the Collection...

Tonight we decided to head to Target just to see what type of selection they had of the Skylanders Giants...let's just say, we should have gone to Target first. They had a much better selection, and they we on sale too! Can't beat a sale, or a little guy not being able to make his mind up when I told him he could only have one....keep in mind, he's already up to seven (in less than a weeks time. He finally narrowed it down to two and I caved and bought those two. But I'm done buying...
So tonight, we welcome Gill Grunt and Bash into the Family (Collection).

Trumpet Music

This is typically what I come home to every day....I walk into the living room and I have to move the trumpet stand, with his music on it, and close his trumpet case. Garrett likes to practice his trumpet alot, but he just recently got the music for Adele's Rolling in the Deep song and he is super, super excited and practicing all the time.
Today also was the first day of Jazz band. Even though this is his first year in band, this is also his first time in Jazz band....practices are on Friday mornings and he had to be there by 7:00 am this morning. So needless to say I wasn't quite sure how he was going to handle it. Typically by the time Fridays roll around he's already dragging, but he got up with no problem and was actually wide awake before he walked out the door. He definitely enjoyed himself this morning and can't wait to go to practice next Friday morning.

And the Obsession Continues...

So, Garrett got Skylanders Giants for Christmas....claims it's one of his favorite gift. As mentioned previously the game came with three characters, but apparently three characters ARE JUST NOT ENOUGH! With Christmas money, and Tooth Fairy money burning a whole in his pockets, we headed off to K-mart (closest place to us) to check out their selection. They had a pretty good selection of characters, but not really any of the ones that he wanted. So, off to Walmart to check out their selection. They had three total characters to choose from, so back to Kmart we go. He didn't want to wait until tomorrow evening and go to Target or Toys R Us. Wound up going home with four more characters....think that should be enough to tide him over for a bit? Probably not.

Date Night with Garrett - His Treat

So most anyone that knows us, knows that G's favorite place to eat is Olive Garden...and the only thing that he'll eat there is the salad. Only the salad and nothing more. Garrett usually has two bowls of salad brought out to him during each visit, just for him, with only the lettuce, the dressing and lots and lots of cheese. I think typically he gets about 4 bowls of salad from the two larger bowls that they bring out to him....and let's just say, the waitresses love him. I'd say I take him there at least once a week, and they know when we walk in, what he's going to be ordering! Well Santa decided to bring G a gift card to Olive Garden and he couldn't wait to go...ever since he got home on Sunday he's been begging to go and I finally caved today...
He was so sweet.....the bill only came to a little over $17 dollars, and Garrett gave the waitress his card. She brought it back to him with the receipt and asked him to sign it for her....he even gave her the remaining funds on the card ($7 and some change) as her tip. He said she did a really good job and she deserved it. I got treated to dinner because he said that I was the best. mom . EVER and that he loved me! Awwweeee. He's too stinkin' cute!

Skylanders Giants - New Obsession

Okay - so who would have thought that "yet another video game" in my house would become a new obsession.....I seriously had no idea that HALO would be taking a back seat to this new game...
Yesterday (1/1/13) Garrett spent most of the day (5+ hours) playing with his new Christmas present - Skylanders Giants. The game came with three characters, and when I asked him which was his favorite, he quickly said Tree Rex, but that he WAS playing the other characters as well (as the starter pack came with three characters).
I even seem to recall him asking me a time or two yesterday if we could go to Wal-mart and get a few more Giants...is this another collection (obsession) that I see happening in the near future.....I'm thinking yes!

“Out With the Old, In With the New" Theme at CUC

“OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW!”
Let's face it, we all have a scrappy stash …. things that we are hoarding, forgot we had, never got around to using … yeah, you know you have it, too! And if you're like us, you may have gotten new supplies and tools as gifts or maybe you hit the after-holiday sales; and we all know that Winter CHA is just around the corner, when the scrap companies will be releasing NEW designs! The Challenge Team members will be using OUR stash all month to make way for all the new goodies that have come or are yet to come our way. You'll see how we are whittling away our stash in our daily BPS Challenges throughout January. And you can join us by using up your own stash in the Blue Plate Special challenges as well. We'll be focusing all month on ways to use what you have to make room for more .... well, stuff! So … we know you have some stash (don't we all) and we know you are eyeing all those new supplies … so join us as we say “OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW!”
